The Yarden Merlot Ortal Vineyard is an aromatic and complex wine, showing blackberry jam, plum and light citrus notes, balanced with spices, cacao and herbs, fresh flowers and rich oak.  The dense body and good structure lead to a nice, long finish.

 

While pleasurable to drink now, Yarden Merlot Ortal Vineyard will continue to improve in the bottle and will age well for more than a decade if well-stored.  Enjoy this wine with fairly rich foods, such as roasted squab, venison or cumin-spiced lamb stew.
